Langham Recreation Posted on Monday, March 21, 2016 11:51 AM

On March 19th, 2016 the Langham Skating Club held their annual skating carnival. This year's carnival theme was Afternoon at the Oscars. All songs played at the carnival were songs that were recognized by the Oscar academy, either as a nominee or a winner. The cast of talented skaters were able to Showcase their hard work and dedication for the season as they interpreted classic Oscar songs.

The show began with Langham's very own Glee Club singing O' Canada, and a Canadian Flag proudly flew by Taylor Robertson and Krista Booth.

Skaters of all skill levels took to the ice and performed a number of Oscar songs. As well as special appearances from Brynn Babey and Alison Fedoriuk as guest skaters.

This year's Oscars winners were:

Skater of The Year: Emily Degelman

Can Skate Stage 1-3 Most Enthusiastic: Emma Bigoraj

Can Skate Stage 4-6 Most Enthusiastic: Erin Levoie

Star Skate Most Enthusiastic: Taylor Robertson

Star Skate More Improved: Mea Polski

Carnival Queen: Alyssa Turgeon

Congratulations to all Oscar winners and absolutely fantastic job to all skaters that took part in this years skating carnival.
