Langham Annual Community Fowl Supper SUCCESS!

Langham Recreation Posted on Monday, October 27, 2014 12:27 PM

Hello Langhamites!  Wow!  What a night!  If you were out of town on Sunday October 26th, you missed a milestone in Langham's history.  Our annual Community Fowl Supper was a huge success.  Our guests started arriving at 3:00 p.m. and we opened service up a wee bit early at 3:45 p.m.  The hall filled up quickly and we were at capacity within the first hour.  Our seating system worked like a charm and we filled the emptying seats as quickly as we could.  Officially we served 890 meals! (this includes all adult and child tickets as well as take out meals)  This is a new record!  Our previous record was 811 in 2009.  A great big THANK YOU goes out to our community who donated food, money, oven space, freezer space and time.  It is you that made it possible for us to feed so many people in a 3 hour time period!  Thank you to C95 and Rock 102 for attending our event and for promoting our Fowl Supper.  And last, but not least to the organizing committee...these individuals worked very hard, planning, organizing, shopping, decorating, setting up, cooking, washing dishes...you name it, they did it.  The dedication they have to this annual event is tremendous!  It all could not have happened with out our core committee!  Well done ladies and gentleman!  And thank you Langham and surrounding area that came out and supported us by coming and having supper!  Your attendance is very much appreciated.  All the proceeds from our Fowl Suppers are divided between the Affinity Community Hall, St. Mark's Church, Knox United Church, First Sask Lutheran Church and the Evangelical Bible Church.  The funds are used to run programs in their respective facilities.
