Langham Working with RCMP

Posted on Thursday, August 1, 2013 12:41 PM

In recent weeks the Town of Langham has suffered an abrupt increase in nuisance and criminal activity, mostly involving vehicle break-ins. Town Council wishes to apprise residents that we are aware of these activities and are doing everything within our authority to address the situation in cooperation with the RCMP. We appreciate the dialogue our residents continue to have and would hope that you continue to report any information you may have. As residents of the Town, Council recognizes how frustrating this must be for everyone, especially when we value the safety and security associated with small town living. At this time the Town of Langham is cooperating with the RCMP to identify those responsible for this criminal activity. We ask for your continued support and patience as we look for solutions that will continue to protect the safety and integrity of our community. We also ask that should you have any questions, comments or concerns that you contact either the Town Office or the RCMP.

The RCMP would like to remind the public to keep your doors locked, do not leave valuables in your vehicles and do not leave your keys in your vehicle (even if it is parked in your garage). If you see any suspicious people or activity, please contact the RCMP immediately by calling 911. The RCMP have also mentioned that the apparent vehicle of choice for the thieves are the Ford F350’s. If you own one of these trucks they suggest using an anti-theft device such as an alarm system, steering wheel locks or other similar devices.
